Node: BoundaryEnhancementVolumeStyle

Component: VolumeRendering

Quick Links

➨ Fields

The BoundaryEnhancementVolumeStyle node specifies that the boundaries of the volume data shall be enhanced. The rendering is performed based on the gradient magnitude. Areas where density varies are made more visible than areas of constant density.

HTML Encoding and Default Values

<BoundaryEnhancementVolumeStyle boundaryOpacity='0' enabled='true' metadata='X3DMetadataObject' opacityFactor='1' retainedOpacity='1' surfaceNormals='x3dom.nodeTypes.Texture' ></BoundaryEnhancementVolumeStyle>

These are the X3D / X3DOM fields of this node. Values should usually be received / set as strings via DOM functions (i.e., using setAttribute("myFieldName", "myFieldValue") and getAttribute("myFieldName")).
Name Type Default Value Range Inheritance Standard Description
boundaryOpacity SFFloat 0 The boundaryOpacity field specifies the amount of boundary enhancement to use.
enabled SFBool true X3DVolumeRenderStyleNode Specifies whether the render style is enabled or disabled.
metadata SFNode X3DMetadataObject Core/X3DNode Field to add metadata information
opacityFactor SFFloat 1 The opacityFactor field is an exponent factor that specifies the slope of the opacity curve to highlight the boundary.
retainedOpacity SFFloat 1 The retainedOpacity field specifies the amount of original opacity to retain.
surfaceNormals SFNode Texturing/Texture X3DComposableVolumeRenderStyleNode The surfaceNormals field allows to provide the normals of the volume data. It takes an ImageTextureAtlas of the same dimensions of the volume data. If it is not provided, it is computed on the fly.
